The Latin term ex contactu, meaning “from contact,” traditionally refers to third-class relics in Catholicism: objects made holy by touching something sacred. In this exhibition, that sacredness comes not from canonisation or death, but from lived, intimate thresholds — where the body meets pain, love, pleasure, betrayal, birth, wound, joy, and orgasm. She has recently moved to the United States and was struck by the social contrasts of life in this country. Exhibition of mosaic art The central works of the exhibition are a triptych dedicated to the war in Ukraine. In addition to the pacifist overtones, these works have the “memento mori” narrative, a characteristic of classical Roman mosaics, which unites them with other works presented at the exhibition.
